Hey everyone! How are we all doing!? So it’s 2 days in to march already and Smokejumper has been hitting the ground running. We have been playing almost every weekend since the new years has started and are having an amazing time doing it. This last weekend we played at Galway arms with our friends Tuck and Roll from Bend and Danger Death Ray from Portland! We then went down to Portland played with them at The Bomb Shelter with about 9 million bands(including house band Fools Rush). What a GREAT weekend. It turns out Smokejumper tends to be the brunt of a lot of fun and Sam from Tuck and Roll and Ryan from Danger Death Ray decided to get whipped cream and spray it on us during our last song of playing. We were COVERED in the stuff still playing through it. It was quite possibly the most delicious set we have ever played. Just wanted to keep you all updated on what’s going on letting everyone out there know we’re still kickin’!

My friend Alithea(http://alithea.tumblr.com/) posted a new song by Rival Schools today. I loved the song and I have loved Rival Schools for a long time. This got me thinking about how their singer and songwriter Walter Schreifels is one of the greatest musicians of the last 20 years. He has been the songwriter for bands like Gorilla Biscuits and Quicksand, and he has played in bands like Youth of Today and Burn. This prompted me to start listening to Burn and Quicksand almost non-stop today. This is one of my favorite songs by Quicksand and it is titled “Fazer”. Learn a little!

Hey every(one) how are you all doing!? The last two weeks have been really awesome for Smokejumper! We’ve been working on a new song, have it down, and should be playing it live very soon. Riverside, this song goes out to you! It’s only been played live a couple of times(botched both times?) and once we got back from our hiatus we decided to put our noses to the grindstone and get stuff together for this year! Be on the look out for new recordings(splits, ep, full length oh my?), merch(one new shirt design now, come to a show to pick one up!), and tons of shows(montana, we’re lookin’ at you baby!).

Happy new years everyone! Wow 2010 was a great year for us. On to a better 2011. First off thanks to The Bomb Shelter in Portland for a GREAT time on the 1st during hangover fest. This place rules! Thanks to all the Portland bands that played and thanks to all of our Seattle friends/band mates for coming down, playing, partying, and ringing out the hangover drunken mess that was the 1st an amazing time.

Thursday January 6th marks our next and only show of January with One Day from Bremerton, The F’n A’s from Port Orchard, and Random Orbits from here in Seattle and is at El Corazon in the El Corazon bar. Show starts at 8PM, is 5 bucks, and is 21+. Come party and help support some awesome local music!
